Caring for the Parts of My Body

Learning Objectives
Indicator: K1.1.3.1.1
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Sing the song “This is the way we wash our face” along with the teacher, using the correct actions.
- Recite a short rhyme about caring for one body part (e.g., teeth, hands, or fingernails).
- Touch and name at least three body parts that need care when the teacher calls them out.
- Demonstrate one way to care for a body part, such as pretending to brush teeth or wash hands.
- Join the class in the community circle and take turns showing an action while others guess the body part being cared for.

Have learners sit in a semi-circle (community circle time), sing a song (This is the way l brush my teeth, brush my teeth, 2x) and call out parts of the body that should be cared for and have learners touch that part to show comprehension. E.g. l brush my teeth, l cut my fingernails short, etc.
