Learning Objectives
Indicator: B3.6.1.1.1 - Read a variety of age and level-appropriate books and summarise them
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Select an age and level-appropriate book from a class library based on their interests and reading ability.
- Read a short book or a chapter of a book independently for pleasure during the scheduled reading time.
- Identify the main characters, setting, and the most important events in a story they have read.
- Summarise a book or a chapter in 3 to 4 sentences, stating who the story is about, where it happens, and what happens in the beginning, middle, and end.
- Share their summary with a partner or the class using the Author’s Chair routine, speaking clearly and with confidence.
