Learning Objectives
Indicator: B8.4.3.1.1 - Use information from non-text sources (figures, tables graphs, and maps) to support ideas in writing
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Interpret information presented in figures, tables, graphs and maps by stating what the data shows in their own words.
- Extract at least two relevant pieces of data from a non-text source to support a given idea or opinion.
- Write a short paragraph (8 to 10 sentences) that uses specific data from a table, graph or map as evidence for their opinion.
- Reference a non-text source correctly in their writing by naming the source (for example, “the 2021 Population and Housing Census” or “the map of the Greater Accra Region”).
- Compare information from two different non-text sources and decide which data best supports their argument.
