Learning Objectives
Indicator: B3.2.5.1.1 - Use consonant blends to build words
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify at least four common consonant blends (bl, br, st, tr) in given words.
- Build new words by adding a consonant blend to given word endings (e.g., “ack” becomes “black”, “ush” becomes “brush”).
- Sort a list of words into groups based on their beginning consonant blend.
- Write two short sentences, each containing at least one word that begins with a consonant blend.
- Pronounce words with consonant blends clearly when reading aloud.
