Learning Objectives
Indicator: 2.1.1.LI.2 - Discuss and describe the role of biomedical science professionals in forensics.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define forensic science and explain how it connects to biomedical science practice.
- Identify at least three specific roles that biomedical science professionals play in forensic investigations.
- Describe how biological evidence (such as blood, saliva, or tissue samples) is collected, analysed, and used to support criminal investigations.
- Discuss the importance of accuracy, integrity, and ethical conduct when handling forensic evidence.
- Work collaboratively in mixed-gender and mixed-ability groups to analyse a forensic case scenario and present findings to the class.
