Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.1.1.LI.3 - Explain the importance of the study of government.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. State at least five reasons why the study of government is important to the individual and society.
  2. Explain how studying government helps citizens to understand their rights and responsibilities.
  3. Justify the claim that knowledge of government equips citizens to participate meaningfully in democratic processes.
  4. Demonstrate through role play how the study of government promotes civic values such as hard work, loyalty, and patriotism.
  5. Distinguish between the study of government and the mere observation of politics, showing the deeper analytical value of the subject.
