Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.3.3.1.1 - Identify sources of help

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least four forms of child abuse (neglect, emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, and child labour) and give a local example of each.
  2. Name at least three official sources of help for abused children in Ghana (responsible adults, the Police Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU), the Department of Social Welfare, and CHRAJ) and state what each one does.
  3. Explain why speaking out about abuse is important and describe at least two ways a child can safely report abuse.
  4. Create a poster that speaks against child abuse and shows where a child can go for help.
  5. Demonstrate how to approach a responsible adult or authority figure to report a case of abuse through a role-play.
