Indicator: 2.3.2.LI.2 - Explain the functions of ICAO, IATA, FAA, EASA, etc.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Explain the distinct functions of ICAO and IATA and differentiate between their regulatory and trade-association roles.
  • Describe the primary functions of the FAA and EASA as regional and national aviation safety regulators.
  • Compare the functions of at least two international aviation organisations and identify where their responsibilities overlap or differ.
  • Analyse a real-world aviation scenario and determine which international organisation(s) would be responsible for addressing the issue.
  • Justify the importance of international cooperation among aviation organisations in ensuring global air transport safety.
