Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.3.2.LI.1 - Identify the functions of local aviation organisations.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify at least three local aviation organisations operating in Ghana and state their full names from their logos or abbreviations.
Describe the core function of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) in regulating and overseeing civil aviation in Ghana.
Explain the specific roles of other local aviation bodies, including the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet), and the Airlines and allied industry players in Ghana.
Compare the responsibilities of at least two local aviation organisations and identify where their functions overlap or complement each other.
Justify why Ghana needs multiple local aviation organisations rather than a single body to ensure aviation safety.

Collaborative Learning: In small tasks groups, students brainstorm possible roles played by various local aviation organisations. Groups present their findings on the organisation they worked on for others to comment or add what has been left out.
