Learning Objectives

Indicator: B4.1.8.1.1 - Use appropriate pronunciation and intonation in asking and answering questions

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify the difference between rising intonation for questions and falling intonation for answers when they hear them spoken.
  2. Ask at least three simple questions (e.g., What is your name? Where do you live?) using rising intonation at the end of each question.
  3. Answer simple questions using falling intonation and complete, clear sentences.
  4. Pronounce question words such as what, where, how, and who clearly and correctly in a role-play conversation.
  5. Participate in a short paired role-play where they ask two questions and give two answers with appropriate intonation.
