Learning Objectives
Indicator: B3.1.8.1.2 - Use appropriate pronunciation and intonation in asking and answering the inversion questions
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify inversion questions in a given sentence and state how their word order differs from statements.
- Form inversion questions correctly from given statements (e.g., “She is reading” becomes “Is she reading?”).
- Ask inversion questions using a rising intonation at the end of the question.
- Answer inversion questions with short answers (“Yes, she is.” / “No, she is not.”) and full-sentence answers where appropriate.
- Practise asking and answering inversion questions in pairs using appropriate pronunciation and intonation.
