JHS2 Computing · Term 3, Week 12
Artificial Intelligence
Lesson notes
Learning Objectives
Indicator: B8.4.4.1.1 - Discuss Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and compare intelligence in humans, animals and machines
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and describe its key components (nodes, layers, connections, weights).
- Compare intelligence in humans, animals, and machines across at least three criteria such as learning, memory, and problem-solving.
- Distinguish between strong and weak artificial intelligence using everyday examples.
- Explain basic hologram science and how it is used to create 3-dimension mixed reality (MR) intelligence.
- Work effectively in assigned roles during group discussions and report their findings to the whole class.

Exemplars (from the NaCCA curriculum)
1. Compare intelligence in humans, animals and machines. 2. Compare the limitations and capabilities of the three intelligences in processing information 3. Discuss the difference between strong and weak artificial intelligence. 4. Discuss hologram science basics and link the application in creating a 3- Dimension mixed reality (MR) intelligence.
