Learning Objectives
Indicator: 1.1.1.LI.3 - Discuss the contributions of ancient art to emerging art traditions
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define emerging art traditions (installation art, performance art, augmented reality, NFTs, and blockchain art) and give at least one example of each.
- Explain how at least three features of ancient and indigenous Ghanaian art (materials, methods, symbolism, storytelling) appear in emerging art traditions.
- Compare the materials and methods used in ancient art with those used in emerging art traditions, identifying what has been retained, transformed, or replaced.
- Construct a mind map showing the links between specific ancient art practices and their influence on at least five emerging art traditions.
- Present a reasoned oral or written argument on whether ancient art traditions are preserved, adapted, or lost in contemporary digital art practices in Ghana.
