By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • State a clear claim on a given topic in one simple sentence.
  • Give at least two reasons that support their claim.
  • Provide relevant evidence, such as a fact, example, or personal observation, for each reason.
  • Work in groups to share reasons and evidence for an opinion, and present the group’s argument to the class.
