Indicator: 1.4.2.LI.2 - Focus on the process of Reflective Learning for literary appreciation. (Keep Journals)

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define reflective learning and explain its purpose in literary appreciation.
  2. Maintain a personal reading journal that records initial responses, feelings, and questions about a poem.
  3. Use a structured reflection framework (describe, analyse, evaluate, connect) to respond to issues raised in a poem.
  4. Distinguish between surface-level reaction and deeper reflective thought when engaging with poetic texts.
  5. Apply reflective journaling habits to their independent reading of poems beyond the classroom.

Experiential Learning:

- Teacher encourages students to reflect on issues and express feelings towards the issues raised in poems.

- Learners work in groups to reflect on the issues raised to encourage them do individual reflections. This will help learners to continually evaluate and further motivate their actions to feel empowered in decision making process at all levels.
