Learning Objectives
Indicator: B6.2.4.6.2 - Develop guidelines for appreciating and appraising own and others’ compositions and performances that reflect the physical and social environments of some communities in the world
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- List and explain at least five criteria from an agreed guide for appreciating and appraising a performance in music, dance or drama.
- Develop a class-approved guideline sheet for appraising performances that reflects the physical and social environment of a chosen community.
- Use correct appraisal vocabulary (such as projection, diction, harmony, movement variation, characterisation, stage use) when describing a performance.
- Work in a group to agree on a recording method (manual or digital) and a date for carrying out an appraisal session.
- Present the group’s guidelines to the class and justify why each criterion was included, using examples from Ghanaian and world communities.
