Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.2.4.7.3

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least three topical issues in the world that performing artworks can communicate, educate or sensitise the public about.
  2. Analyse a recorded performance (own or another’s) using agreed guidelines, focusing on how the work communicates its message.
  3. Present a clear verbal and written report as feedback, stating both strengths and areas for improvement of the performance.
  4. Suggest at least two practical modifications to the performance based on their appraisal.
  5. Share their report and reflections with peers through an approved social media platform or class display.

Exemplars (from the NaCCA curriculum)

Learners are to:
- display (photographs/video) of selected performances (own or that of others) that communicate, educate or sensitise the advantages and disadvantages of current topical issues of much concern in the world;
- talk about the performances dispassionately using agreed guidelines;
- use the outcome of the appreciation/appraisal to modify the product or to produce similar or another composition and performance;
- record and document the activity and share using an accepted social media by the class/group (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp).
