Learning Objectives
Indicator: B3.1.4.7.1 Use the agreed guidelines to make decisions on the beauty and usefulness of the displayed visual artworks as representations of artworks produced or found in other African communities.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- recall and state the agreed guidelines (theme, subject matter, media, techniques, elements and principles of design) used for judging visual artworks.
- examine displayed visual artworks from at least three other African communities and identify their theme, subject matter, media and techniques.
- make informed decisions about the beauty of displayed artworks using the senses (seeing and touching) and the agreed guidelines.
- make informed decisions about the usefulness of displayed artworks (functional, cultural, aesthetic and social values) using the agreed guidelines.
- justify their decisions about the beauty and usefulness of displayed artworks with clear reasons drawn from the agreed guidelines.
