Anatomy and Physiology
Lesson notes
Learning Objectives
Indicator: 1.2.1.LI.1
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and name at least six major human body systems (nervous, respiratory, circulatory, digestive, endocrine, and musculoskeletal) from diagrams, charts, or models.
- Describe the primary function of each major body system in one or two sentences.
- Locate and name the key organs or parts of each major body system on a diagram or model.
- Classify organs according to the body system to which they belong, giving reasons for their classification.
- Work collaboratively in mixed-ability groups to present findings on one assigned body system, including its structure, function, and key parts.

Collaborative Learning: Work in groups to study various human body systems such as the nervous, respiratory, circulatory, digestive, endocrine and musculoskeletal systems for group presentations in class. Exploratory Learning: Using charts, models or videos, assist learners to identify the parts and functions of each of the human body systems discussed. Teaching and Learning Resources: - Textbook - Anatomical models - Anatomical diagrams - Virtual anatomical visualization platforms - Videos - Charts Assessment (1.2.1.AS.1). The document marks these depth-of-knowledge levels for this indicator: Level 1 Recall; Level 2 Skills of conceptual understanding; Level 3 Strategic reasoning; Level 4 Extended critical thinking and reasoning.
