Learning Objectives

Indicator: 3.4.3.LI.1 - Describe free and external trade.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define free trade and external trade in their own words, distinguishing clearly between the two concepts.
  2. Explain at least three features of free trade and three features of external trade.
  3. Describe the advantages and disadvantages of free trade and external trade using examples relevant to Ghana’s economy.
  4. Justify, with reasoning, whether a particular trading scenario represents free trade or external trade, using evidence from the scenario.
  5. Present their understanding of free and external trade through group discussion and role-play, demonstrating respect for diverse views and gender inclusion.
