Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.4.3.LI.3 - Identify the meaning, importance, challenges and solutions to the service sector of Ghana

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define the service sector and give at least five examples of service industries operating in Ghana.
  2. Explain at least four ways the service sector contributes to Ghana’s economy, using specific local examples.
  3. Identify and classify at least five major challenges facing the service sector in Ghana, distinguishing between infrastructure, human resource, and regulatory problems.
  4. Propose practical solutions to the challenges facing Ghana’s service sector, justifying how each solution addresses the identified problem.
  5. Work collaboratively in mixed ability and gender groups to present findings on the service sector using PowerPoint or other digital tools.
