Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.1.3.LI.2 - Classify and operate different types of machinery used in crop production.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Classify farm machinery into at least three groups based on their function in crop production (land preparation, planting, and harvesting).
Describe the correct operational procedure for at least one land preparation machine and one planting machine.
Match specific machines (tractor, plough, harrow, planter, combined harvester) to their appropriate stage in the crop production cycle.
Demonstrate correct safety precautions to observe when operating or working around farm machinery.
Explain how machinery use affects the efficiency of arable crop production compared to manual methods.
