Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.3.3.3.3 - Perform two set of continuous push-ups.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Demonstrate the correct starting position for a push-up, with palms flat on the ground and body straight from head to heels.
  2. Perform one continuous set of push-ups at their own ability level, lowering and raising the body using arm strength.
  3. Complete a second set of continuous push-ups after a short rest, maintaining proper form throughout the movement.
  4. Explain why rest between sets matters for muscular endurance and recovery.
  5. Apply perseverance by completing two sets of push-ups without giving up, even when muscles feel tired.

Learners after general and specific warm-ups, learners lie on the ground face down. Learners with their palms flat on the ground by their side, extend their arms to move their trunk up and flex the arms again to move the body back to lying position. Learners continue the process for a number of base on their ability in a set. Learners repeat the second set after rest and progress at their own pace.
