Indicator: B4.3.6.1.1 - Use adverbs of time and place appropriately
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify adverbs of place in given sentences correctly.
- Distinguish between adverbs of place and other words in a sentence.
- Use common adverbs of place (here, there, outside, inside, etc.) to complete sentences correctly.
- Form their own sentences using adverbs of place to answer questions such as “Where?”.
- Respond to and ask simple questions using adverbs of place in short spoken exchanges.

- Revise adverbs by having learners identify them in sentences. - Present adverbs of place in context. - Provide practice in identifying and using adverbs. For practice use questions and answers, and illustrations. - Drill learners to practise the appropriate use of adverbs of place. e.g. i. Where is the cat? The cat is here. ii. Where is Kojo? Kojo is outside. - Examples of adverbs of place are: here, there, outside, inside, etc. - Ask learners to use adverbs of place to form correct sentences.
