Exemplars (from the NaCCA curriculum)

1. Using the thought shower strategy, learners identify Ghanaian festivals and the people celebrating them.
2. Using a jigsaw strategy, learners research and discuss the origins of the festivals, the traditional customs and rituals associated with them and the significance of the festivals.
3. Using the fishbowl strategy, learners discuss contemporary adaptations and changes in celebrating Ghanaian festivals today.
4. In mixed-ability groups, learners create a large map of Ghana and mark the locations of various festivals celebrated throughout the year.
- Use different symbols to represent different regions and ethnic groups on the map.
- Add details to the map, including information about the dates, traditions, and significance of each celebration.
