Learning Objectives
Indicator: B7.4.1.1.1 - Identify indigenous medicinal plants used in the pre-colonial era to provide health care.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Name at least five indigenous medicinal plants used in pre-colonial Ghana and the ailments they treated.
- Match pictures or real samples of local medicinal plants to the diseases they cured in the pre-colonial era.
- Explain the concept of traditional medicine and describe its importance in pre-colonial Ghanaian society.
- Work collaboratively in mixed groups to share knowledge about medicinal plants and respect the contributions of all team members.
- Express appreciation for indigenous knowledge systems as part of Ghanaian cultural identity and heritage.

In pairs, learners match pictures of medicinal plants to the diseases they cured in the pre-colonial era. 3.
