Lesson notes

Learning Objectives

Indicator: 3.2.2.LI.2 - Categorise tools, materials and methods for analogue and digital media in the environment, and their potential usage.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Sort at least ten art-making tools and materials into analogue and digital categories, stating one potential use for each.
  2. Explain at least three methods (such as drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, digital photography, and image editing) and match them to the tools and materials each requires.
  3. Construct a two-column manual table and a simple digital table (in a word processor or spreadsheet) that categorises tools, materials and methods according to their multiple potential uses.
  4. Justify, in a short group presentation, why a single material such as fabric or wire mesh can serve multiple art-making purposes, using at least two examples.
  5. Critique peers’ categorisations respectfully, offering one constructive suggestion for improvement.
