Learning Objectives
Indicator: 3.2.1.LI.3 - Design and create artwork based on the message of sustainability using biodegradable and 80% recyclable waste materials.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and sort at least five biodegradable materials and five recyclable waste materials found in their school or home environment.
- Explain the difference between biodegradable and recyclable materials and state why an artwork must use at least 80% recyclable waste to qualify as sustainable.
- Sketch a design concept for a sustainability-themed artwork that repurposes waste materials, showing the intended message clearly.
- Produce a finished artwork or design object using biodegradable and at least 80% recyclable waste materials, following safe working practices.
- Present and justify their finished work to peers, explaining how the materials and message connect to specific Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
