Learning Objectives
Indicator: 3.1.3.LI.1 - Examine ethical considerations to be observed in art studio practice.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define ethics, copyright, plagiarism, and intellectual property in relation to art and design studio practice.
- Identify at least four ethical considerations an artist must observe when using another person’s artwork to create new work.
- Analyse a given artwork or studio scenario to determine whether the ethical considerations have been respected or violated.
- Explain how the sustainable use of studio materials is itself an ethical responsibility.
- Apply ethical considerations to a studio project they plan, showing how they will credit sources and use materials responsibly.
