Learning Objectives

Indicator: 3.1.1.LI.3 - Investigate how art laws and policies inform societal development

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Explain at least three ways in which copyright, patent and trademark laws protect both artists and the Ghanaian public.
Analyse how the enforcement of intellectual property laws contributes to national economic growth and cultural preservation.
Investigate a real case where an art-related law or policy has influenced creative production in Ghana and present findings to the class.
Evaluate the social consequences for Ghanaian communities when art laws are respected as opposed to when they are violated.
Propose one practical policy recommendation that would strengthen the link between art laws and societal development in Ghana.
