Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.1.1.LI.2 - Develop an understanding of etiquette associated with Art and Design Studio practices.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define studio etiquette and list at least five etiquettes that guide daily practice in an art and design studio.
  2. Classify studio etiquettes according to the stage of the art-making process they apply to (preparation, production, and post-production).
  3. Observe and document studio etiquettes during a studio visit or video tour, recording at least three etiquettes per stage of art-making.
  4. Create a chart or infographic showing studio etiquettes for professionals’ daily practice and for various stages of art-making.
  5. Explain how observing studio etiquette influences productivity and safety in a studio environment.
