Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.1.1.LI.1 - Analyse and enumerate both the positive and negative impacts of robots on society.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define a robot and describe what makes robotics a socio-technical system in plain language.
  2. Identify and enumerate at least four positive impacts of robots on society, with a specific example for each.
  3. Identify and enumerate at least four negative impacts or risks of robots on society, with a specific example for each.
  4. Analyse a given scenario involving robots and classify the impacts as positive or negative, explaining their reasoning.
  5. Work collaboratively in groups to produce a table or mind map showing balanced positive and negative impacts of robots, and present it to the class.
