Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.1.3.LI.2 - Identify the forms of precipitation and the types of rainfall

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define precipitation and list at least five forms of precipitation with their characteristics.
  2. Explain the conditions necessary for the formation of precipitation.
  3. Distinguish between the three main types of rainfall: convectional, relief (orographic), and cyclonic (frontal) rainfall.
  4. Describe the sequence of events that lead to the formation of each type of rainfall.
  5. Relate the types of rainfall to real weather experiences in different parts of Ghana and the world.
