Indicator: 2.1.3.LI.1 - Discuss the factors influencing the various climatic elements

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Define the six climatic elements (temperature, precipitation, humidity, pressure, wind, and cloud cover) with accuracy.
  • Explain how latitude, altitude, distance from the sea, and ocean currents influence temperature in Ghana and the wider world.
  • Discuss how prevailing winds, air masses, fronts, and relief influence precipitation patterns.
  • Explain how cloud cover and humidity affect the daily temperature range of a place.
  • Participate in whole-class discussion, showing respect for diverse perspectives on how human activities and natural factors jointly shape local climate.

Talk for learning: Learners share perspectives on the factors influencing the various elements of the weather through a whole class discussion. Learners in group discussions should not forget the emotions people attached to religious, political and ethnic issues.
