Learning Objectives
Indicator: B7.1.3.3.1.1 (verbatim from curriculum: 1.3.3.LI.1 - Examine causes and measures for preventing or mitigating air pollution in Ghana)
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define air pollution in their own words and identify the major sources of air pollution in Ghana.
- Classify the causes of air pollution into natural and human (anthropogenic) categories, with at least three examples in each category relevant to Ghana.
- Explain at least four effects of air pollution on human health, the environment, and the economy of Ghana.
- Evaluate at least five measures for preventing or mitigating air pollution in Ghana, judging which are most practical and effective for different communities.
- Design a poster that communicates the causes, effects, and solutions to air pollution in a way that persuades community members to take action.

Talk for Learning: In an all-inclusive whole class discussion, and with the aid of pictures/videos discuss the causes of air pollution in Ghana. Use mind maps to organise learners thoughts. Activity-Based Learning: In mixed ability and mixed gender groupings create posters on the effects of air pollution and ways of addressing air pollution. Learners should be able to manage their emotional reactions and behaviours using techniques such as mindfulness strategies, breathing, and self-talk. Assessment (1.3.3.AS.1).
