Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.2.3.LI.2 - Haz conexiones y comparaciones entre el sistema familiar en Ghana y el de otros países. (Expresión oral)

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Compare the nuclear family and the extended family in Ghana using at least three oral sentences in Spanish, such as “La familia nuclear es pequeña, pero la familia extendida incluye a los abuelos, tíos y primos.”
Orally identify two similarities and two differences between family structures in Ghana and in a Spanish-speaking country, using comparison phrases like “tanto… como…”, “mientras que”, and “a diferencia de”.
Describe weekend activities typical of Ghanaian families and Hispanic families in Spanish, using the present tense of regular -ar, -er and -ir verbs correctly.
Explain orally, in simple Spanish, one reason why the extended family is important in Ghanaian culture and one reason why it is also valued in many Hispanic cultures.
Participate in a group discussion of five learners, contributing at least two comparative statements in Spanish about family composition, using vocabulary from the lesson.
