Learning Objectives

Indicator: 3.2.1.LI.1 - Identify and explain various technology-based art and design works.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define technology-based art and design in their own words, giving at least three examples from their own experience.
  2. Explain the relationship between pairs of technology-based art forms, such as photography and film, film and video, and analogue photography and digital photography.
  3. Categorise given examples of art and design works as either physical (actual) or virtual (internet-based) with reasons for their classification.
  4. Use a mind map to organise and present their understanding of how technology has changed the making and viewing of art and design in the 20th and 21st centuries.
  5. Contribute thoughtfully to a class debate about whether technology enhances or threatens traditional art and design practices in Ghana.
