Learning Objectives
Indicator: 3.4.2.LI.5 - Classify Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs).
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) in their own words, distinguishing them from timber products.
- Classify at least five NTFPs into their major categories (food, medicine, fibres, resins and gums, and ornamental products).
- Identify the sources of NTFPs in Ghana, including specific forest zones and communities.
- Explain the importance of NTFPs to households, local communities and the national economy.
- Justify, with reasons, why NTFPs are important for the sustainability of the timber industry in Ghana.
