Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.5.1.LI.7 - Wire final circuits in accordance with IEE regulations

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Define a final circuit and state its purpose in a domestic electrical installation.
Distinguish between a lighting final circuit and a socket outlet final circuit, giving at least two differences.
Describe the correct wiring procedure for a one lamp controlled by one switch circuit and a two-way switching circuit in accordance with IEE regulations.
Compare radial and ring socket outlet circuits, stating one advantage and one disadvantage of each.
Justify the choice of a wiring method for a given room in a house, referring to IEE regulation requirements such as cable size, protective device rating, and earthing.
