Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.1.1.LI.4 - Examine the parts of the lubrication systems and the components to be lubricated

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify at least eight major parts of a lubrication system from sketches, charts, or real objects.
State the purpose of the engine lubrication system in their own words.
Match each engine component (such as crankshaft bearings, camshaft, cylinder walls, and valve train) to the correct lubrication method or oil path.
Explain, using a simple diagram or sketch, how oil travels from the oil pan through the pump and filter to the moving parts of the engine.
Work collaboratively in mixed groups to present findings on lubrication system parts, respecting the contributions of all group members.
