Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.4.2.LI.1 - Identify and explain the use of various tools and equipment for gas welding

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify at least eight distinct tools and equipment used in oxy-acetylene gas welding and state the specific function of each.
Explain the role of each component in the gas welding setup, from the gas cylinders to the welding torch.
Demonstrate the correct sequence for setting up and shutting down a gas welding station, including all safety checks.
Justify the importance of each safety guideline related to gas welding equipment, explaining the consequence of ignoring each rule.
Work collaboratively in mixed ability groups to match gas welding tools to their functions and present their findings clearly to the class.
