Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.2.1.LI.2 - Describe the roles of stakeholders in building construction project

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Define the term “stakeholder” and distinguish stakeholders from professionals in a building construction project.
  • Describe the roles of at least five key stakeholders in a building construction project, including the client, contractor, architect, quantity surveyor, and government agencies.
  • Explain how the interests of stakeholders may differ and why collaboration among them is essential for project success.
  • Relate the roles of stakeholders to activities that occur before construction begins, such as site acquisition, permits, and financing.
  • Work effectively in mixed groups to present the role of a specific stakeholder to the class.

Collaboration
- Through structured grouping (GESI) ask learners to describe the roles of stakeholders in building construction project. This approach is to ensure effective participation in teaching and learning by different categories of learners including Approaching Proficiency, the Proficient and the Highly Proficient.
