Learning Objectives

Indicator: 3.2.3.LI.1 - Identify the methods, agencies and channels of distribution.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define distribution and distinguish between the two main methods of distribution: direct and indirect.
  2. Identify at least five agencies of distribution and explain the specific role each agency plays in moving goods from producer to consumer.
  3. Illustrate with a simple chart or diagram at least three different channels of distribution, including at least one example of a consumer good and one example of an agricultural product common in Ghana.
  4. Role-play the activities of at least one agency of distribution, demonstrating the key functions and challenges that agency faces.
  5. Present and defend a reasoned choice of the most appropriate channel of distribution for a given product (for example, fresh tomatoes vs. sachet water vs. a locally made cloth) using Level 2 and Level 3 reasoning.
