By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define general management practices in animal production in their own words.
  2. List at least five general management practices carried out on farm animals.
  3. Explain the objectives of general management practices in animal production, giving at least four reasons why these practices are carried out.
  4. Distinguish between routine and periodic management practices with examples of each.
  5. Discuss the benefits of proper management systems for keeping farm animals, using examples from their own community.
