Learning Objectives
Indicator: 3.3.2.LI.2 - Develop an operating manual for a therapeutic device.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- List the essential sections that must appear in a standard operating manual for a therapeutic medical device.
- Explain the purpose and importance of each manual section (safety warnings, specifications, instructions for use, maintenance, and troubleshooting).
- Write clear, simple, step-by-step operating instructions for a specified therapeutic device using accurate technical language appropriate for the intended user.
- Critically review a draft operating manual to identify missing safety information, vague instructions, or unclear warnings, and suggest improvements.
- Work collaboratively in groups to plan, draft, and present a complete operating manual for an assigned therapeutic device.
