Learning Objectives
Indicator: 2.4.2.LI.2 - Evaluate official regulations relating to the possession and operation of UAVs.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the key sections of the GCAA Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) regulations that relate to UAV possession and operation in Ghana.
- Explain the registration, licensing, and operational requirements a UAV owner or pilot must satisfy under the GCAA regulations.
- Compare the rules for different categories of UAV operations (such as recreational, commercial, and beyond visual line of sight) based on the official regulations.
- Apply the GCAA regulations to real-world scenarios by judging whether a given UAV operation is lawful or unlawful, and justify their judgement with reference to specific provisions.
- Evaluate the strengths and limitations of the current regulations in promoting safe and responsible UAV use in Ghana.
