Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.4.1.LI.1 - Describe global warming and its effect on environmental and rural livelihood sustainability.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define global warming in their own words and distinguish it from weather and climate.
  2. Explain at least three human activities that contribute to global warming.
  3. Describe at least two effects of global warming on the environment, such as rising sea levels and changing rainfall patterns.
  4. Explain how global warming threatens rural livelihoods, giving specific examples from Ghana’s farming and fishing communities.
  5. Complete a written report summarising their findings on global warming in their school’s catchment area, using information gathered from the internet or pictures.
