Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.1.3.LI.3 - Discuss the impact of life choices on diseases.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least four lifestyle choices that directly influence the development of non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and cancers.
  2. Explain the connection between specific life choices (diet, physical activity, substance use, sleep, stress management) and their impact on physical and mental health.
  3. Analyse how life choices made during adolescence can have long-term consequences for health in adulthood.
  4. Evaluate the role of personal responsibility and social influences in making health-promoting life choices.
  5. Justify, with evidence, the claim that prevention through life choices is more effective than treatment of disease.
