Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.1.3.LI.1 - Explain the various mental health conditions

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define mental health and mental health conditions in their own words, distinguishing between normal emotional fluctuations and diagnosable conditions.
  2. Identify and explain at least five common mental health conditions, including their key signs and symptoms.
  3. Use ICT devices to search for accurate information about mental health conditions and present their findings to the class.
  4. Distinguish between different mental health conditions by matching symptoms to the correct condition in a given scenario.
  5. Demonstrate respect and empathy when discussing mental health conditions, avoiding stigmatising language and stereotypes.
