Indicator: 3.2.3.LI.1 - Draft and organise arguments with the support of textual evidence for writing or speaking
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify an author’s point of view in a prose excerpt and state it clearly in their own words.
- Locate and select relevant textual evidence that supports a given argument or stance.
- Draft a short argumentative paragraph that includes a claim, supporting evidence, and explanation.
- Orally present an argument to peers using coherent, organised language and ethically acceptable expression.
- Respond constructively to peers’ arguments by asking relevant questions based on what they heard.
